Warning: Emails misusing the name of Yassmin Yassin and Gorvins Residential LLP

Emails have sent misusing the name of Yassmin Yassin and Gorvins Residential LLP in relation to conveyancing transaction.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that a member of the public was contacted by someone purporting to be a genuine solicitor (see below), in relation to a conveyancing transaction. The emails also misuse the name and email address of a genuine firm (see genuine details below) and the contact details for a genuine solicitor (see below).

The emails have been sent from the email address 'yassmin.yassin@gorvinsresi.uk'. The emails provide the telephone numbers of 0161 930 5396 and 0161 930 5286. They also provide an email address Yassmin.Yassin@gorvinsresi.com.

Any business or transaction through the above email address and contact details is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor named Yasmin Yassin (SRA ID 460984).

We believe the genuine solicitor is not associated with the above matter.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors Gorvins Residential LLP (SRA ID 801191). The genuine firm uses the email domain @gorvinsresi.com and the genuine firm's website is www.gorvinsresidential.com. Its head office is Dale House, Tiviot Dale, Stockport, SK1 1TA and telephone number is 0161 930 5350.

Yassmin Yassin is employed at Gorvins Residential LLP as a Paralegal. The genuine paralegal uses the telephone numbers 0161 930 5396 and 0161 930 5286.

The genuine firm of solicitors Gorvins Residential LLP and Yassmin Yassin have confirmed that they do not have any genuine connection to the emails referred to in the above alert.
