A website of 'lawboard.co.uk' is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm called 'Lawboard LLP'.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been informed that a website at 'lawboard.co.uk' is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm called 'Lawboard LLP'.
The website for 'Lawboard LLP' misuses the layout and profile images from the website of a legitimate business called Greenspan Partners LLP, which is located in Canada and not authorised or regulated by the SRA. The website provides the telephone numbers '+44 7441 399911' and '+44 7537 13155' and an email address of 'info@lawboard.co.uk'. It also provides an address in London from which a number of genuine firms of solicitors operate (see below).
The website says that the following are 'lawyers' at 'Lawboard LLP':

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Herbert Smith Freehills. The website for the genuine firm is www.herbertsmithfreehills.com.
Herbert Smith Freehills has confirmed that they have no link to the website referred to in the above alert.
There are a number of genuine firms of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA that operate from the address 'Linen Hall, 162-168 Regent St., London W1B 3BL, United Kingdom'. They are not believed to have any connection to the website referred to in the above alert.
There are a number of genuine solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA that share the name of those listed above, and they are not thought to have any connection to the website referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?

If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
