The facts of the case
Mr Travers was a non-authorised individual and a former Senior Manager Talent Acquisition at CD&R Galaxy UK Opco Limited. He was convicted on 26 March 2025, having pleaded guilty and sentenced on 11 June 2025 at Guildford Crown Court for the following criminal offences:
Count / Offence 1
- Arrange/facilitate commission of offence of sexual activity with child/cause/incite child to engage – penetration.
Count / Offence 2
- Adult attempt to meet a boy under 16 years of age following grooming.
Mr Travers was sentenced to a total of 32 months imprisonment for count 1 and 10 months for count 2 to run concurrently, and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Our decision on sanction
Mr Travers conduct breached relevant duties that applied to him as an employee of the firm, namely, Principles 2 and 5 of the SRA Principles 2019. It was found that it would be undesirable for Mr Travers to act as a Head of Legal Practice, Head of Finance and Administration, a manager or an employee of a body licensed in accordance with section 99 of the Legal Services Act 2007.
Mr Travers was disqualified from holding any of these roles.
He was also directed to pay costs of £600.
